President’s Message

We love golf!

Your Board of Directors are as follows:
President:  Donna Lalonde
Vice President: Karen Gallagher
Secretary: Mary Schueler
Treasurer: Sharren Webber
Past President and Membership Chair:  Lola Stone
Tournament Chairman:  Diane Comeau

Mission

Desert Hills Women’s Golf Association (DHWGA) is dedicated to promote, organize and conduct competitive golfing events for our members at Desert Hills Golf Course.  Ladies Day is every Tuesday morning.  New members are welcome to join us for a fun day of golf and meet new friends.

Organization

We are chartered by the Arizona Women’s Golf Association and currently have 40 members.  We are a non-profit club governed by By-Laws exercised through a Board of Directors elected annually by the membership.

Activities

DHWGA has weekly scheduled play days, which includes Ace of the Year, Club Championship and President’s Cup.  Our active season is from November through March, but we are chartered as a 12 month a year Association.

Golf Handicap System

Our Club supports all golfers at Desert Hills by providing the means to access and maintain each golfer’s handicap through our KIOSK, located in the golf shop, which is linked to both the AWGA and the Golf Handicap Information System (GHIN).  This system now enables members of other clubs throughout most of the United States to access and update their handicap records provided their home club maintains their handicap through GHIN.

Applications for Membership

DHWGA accepts applications for regular membership from all unaffiliated golfers and encourages members with a home course located elsewhere to join our membership as well.  Membership fees are currently $55.00 per year (if paid by December 1st) which includes the benefits of AWGA membership ($30.00) and the ability to establish a handicap through GHIN.

How to apply

Simply go to the AWGA website, www.awga.org, to renew or register.  As a new membercreate AWGA eGolfBag profile, click “join a club” and follow the prompts.  If you are a renewing member log onto your eGolfBag profile click the “renew” button and follow the prompts.  New applications and renewals processed on or after December 1st will be charged $55.00.
